Aaron Agness specializes in insurance coverage disputes arising out of first party claims, third party comprehensive general liability claims, claims made coverages, umbrella and excess claims, and construction defect litigation. He represents insurers in coverage disputes and bad faith actions throughout California, with a substantial amount of his practice in Federal and Appellate Courts. He also provides coverage opinions on a broad range of complex insurance issues and has handled trademark and copyright matters for the firm’s intellectual property/entertainment practice.

Aaron Agness joined Weston & McElvain LLP in 2003 and became a partner in 2010, before the firm became Weston & Agness LLP in 2022. Mr. Agness has first-chaired and second-chaired both bench and jury trials, all of which resulted in favorable verdicts. He has handled numerous appellate matters, including arguing before the Ninth Circuit and the California Court of Appeal. He is adept at managing cases from inception through conclusion, and works closely with his clients in an effort to meet their goals through trial or settlement.
